Day 334: November

Happy end of November! Can you believe it’s the end of November and the year is almost over? I’m having a hard time believing it. Only 31 more daily posts for me, but don’t worry I’m not going to stop after December 31, it just won’t be every day.

I think of November as an in between month. The leaves are falling from the trees and the weather is getting colder, and while we sometimes get snow, it’s rarely very much. We’re getting ready for winter, but it’s not here yet, and it’s pretty drab and can be depressing. That’s why I’m glad we celebrate Thanksgiving during November, it can be hard to remember the things we should be thankful for when we look outside, but with Thanksgiving we’re forced to remember and think about them. Then as soon as it’s over we start gearing up for Christmas, and celebrating the birth of Christ!

Day 334: Thank you Lord for the month of November, where we are forced to really think about the things we’re thankful for.

Day 333: Spending Time with Family

We’re still out-of-town for Thanksgiving, visiting family, and we’ve been having so much fun together! Talking, eating, shopping, whatever it’s been wonderful! Both sides of my family are very close and I love spending time with them. Gaining insight into my life and learning about my family history. As the saying goes we can choose our friends but we don’t choose our family, but I don’t think I would exchange mine for anything. I love them all, and I love spending time with them no matter how long or short that time may be. I wish I could spend more time with them, but I try to make the most of whatever amount of time we have.

Day 333: Thank you Lord for being able to spend time with family, it’s so wonderful to be able to see and spend time with them, and hopefully learn from them!

Day 332: Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers! I love Thanksgiving! It’s wonderful to have a day devoted to giving thanks to God for all we have. It’s something we should never forget and do everyday.

That’s what’s most important part of the holiday but I enjoy everything about the holiday. From spending time with family, (the second most important part) eating lots of food, (turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, pumpkin pie, etc) parades, and football. It’s always a lot of fun, memorable, and a great way to spend the day, as long as we don’t forget the purpose of the day: Giving Thanks!

Day 332: Thank you Lord for Thanksgiving day so everyone remembers to thank you for all we have from you!

Day 331: Bar-B-Q Chicken Pizza

I love pizza, bar-b-q sauce, and chicken, especially when they’re put together in a Bar-B-Q Chicken Pizza! It’s probably the only dish I can think of that I’ll never turn down. Of course that has a lot to do with the fact that I don’t think I know anyone else who likes it, so if I get a chance to eat it I will. A couple of the restaurants at my college had it on their menu and I would get it there a lot, but now that I’m out of school I don’t get to have it as often. I see it more and more in frozen pizza but when I go shopping they don’t always have it, besides I think it’s MUCH better fresh than frozen. Besides one of the places at my school, I think California Pizza has the best Bar-B-Q Chicken pizza, but I don’t go there as often as I’d like.

Day 331: Thank you Lord for Bar-B-Q Chicken Pizza, and how it combines three of my favorite foods, and tastes so good!

Day 330: Restarting the Computer

Shortly after sending an e-mail at work today my computer went completely haywire, bringing up a screen with the e-mail I had replied to over one hundred times. I shut down the computer, restarted it, and after a short fluke, it worked fine for the rest of the day. It’s amazing to me how many computer problems can be fixed by just shutting it down and restarting it. Of course that doesn’t solve every problem, but nine times out of ten it works!

I remember when I first started using computers I was so nervous about trying new things and breaking the computer. Whenever I started using a new program, one of the first things I always wanted to know was how to get out of it, because if something went wrong I would often panic, and try to get out of the program as soon as possible. Sometimes the only way to stop it would be to restart the computer. Thank goodness I got over that! Though sometimes still when my computer goes haywire even if I know it was nothing I did, I feel that way again. Thank the Lord that if nothing else works I can shut it down and hopefully it’ll work again.

Day 330: Thank you Lord for being able to restart the computer when there’s a problem, it makes me feel so much more comfortable on the computer knowing that if something goes wrong and I can always do that if nothing else works!

Day 329: College

After spending four years in Community College I moved on to a four-year College and completed my Bachelor’s degree in two years. I was fortunate enough to be able to transfer most of my credits from my first school to my second even though I changed majors slightly. The classes I took for my Associate’s were a lot of Gen Ed and fun courses, but once I moved on I took more serious ones and built on the foundation I had made. There were quite a few classes that I really enjoyed but they were also practical for after I graduated. I didn’t have as much time as I would’ve liked for extracurricular activities as I had in Community College, but I didn’t mind too much. I was accepted into Lambda Pi Eta the National Communication Honor Society while I was there, which was pretty awesome especially since I never thought I’d get into any honor society. I learned a lot at the College, and I’m so grateful I was able to go there!

Day 329: Thank you Lord for my college and all I learned and the experiences I had there.

Day 328: Sharing about My Blog

During church this morning I had the opportunity to share a testimony about my blog. I talked about how this experience has taught me to give thanks in ALL circumstances, I’ve become disciplined by having to write everyday, and I’ve come to realize that while I’m not very comfortable sharing my faith verbally I am VERY comfortable writing about it. I also encouraged everyone to make a list of the things they’re grateful for, not just the big obvious ones, and to thank God for them, then tell the people on their list that they’re grateful for them and why, in person, on the phone, or write them a thank you note.

I really enjoyed having the opportunity to share about my blog with my church family. Just as I pray that every post I write will bless everyone who reads it, I pray that my testimony will bless everyone who heard it. I don’t know if anyone will follow through with my suggestion, and even if they do there’s no guarantee I’ll hear about it, but I hope they do!

Day 328: Thank you Lord for the opportunity I had today to share about my blog in church. May it serve as a blessing and encouragement to everyone who heard it.
