Day 365: A New Year

Well… I did it! I reached day 365 of my blog and I can’t believe it! It’s been an amazing year, thanks in great part to writing this blog! When I started January 1st I had no idea what this year would hold, and now looking back it’s been an awesome year! I’ve gotten to do some cool things, had some trials along the way, I’ve grown as a person and in my faith, learned things about myself, and gone on an amazing journey through writing this blog.

Enough looking behind, it’s time to look forward, after all isn’t that what most people do on New Years? 2014 will be here in a few hours, and after all that God has done this year I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do in the year to come. I’m planning on keeping up with this blog, though not every day, and probably starting a new one in the next few months. Other than that I have no idea what’s going to happen in the weeks and months to come, but that’s what I like about a new year, it stretches ahead of us and we have no idea what’s coming. It’s exciting and new!

Day 365: Thank you Lord for the year that’s coming in a few hours! I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen!

Day 364: This Year with My Blog

I can’t believe tomorrow is the 365th Day of my Blog! It’s been an amazing year, and I’ve become a more grateful person as a result of writing this blog. Some days it’s been really easy to find something to be thankful for, while others it’s been really hard. But I wouldn’t change this year for anything! I’m glad I’ve had this experience and I’m excited to keep going here, and see what God has in store for me! Even though I won’t be writing everyday I think it’ll be good to keep it up. I can think of a number of things that I’m grateful for that I didn’t write about this year for one reason or another, and I’m sure there’ll be other things that I haven’t even thought of! So keep checking back in 2014 and continue this journey with me!

Day 364: Thank you Lord for the year I’ve spent writing this blog! It’s been an amazing experience and I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned this year!

Day 363: My Blog Readers

Since the year is almost over, which means an end to my daily posts (don’t worry I’m going to keep writing, just not every day) I thought it was about time to write a post about YOU my blog readers! When I first started this blog to be honest I wasn’t sure if anyone was going to read it; I hoped they would but if they didn’t that was ok with me. This has been more of a personal journey for me this year, having to find something to be grateful for each day, it hasn’t been easy but I’ve been able to find something each day.

From the first day I posted each of posts on Facebook so my friends could read my blog and go on this journey with me, as far as I know most of my readers do know me personally, but I know that’s not all of you. However you came across my blog whether it was early on this year or late, if you read it every day or here and there, I want to thank each of you for reading my blog and going on this journey with me. I hope you’ve been encouraged by what you’ve read here and become a more grateful person, like I have. Thank you for all of your encouragement and support this year, whether it’s been by just coming back to my blog, writing a comment, or telling me in person, it’s helped me continue on all year. I’m sad to see this year end, and that’s why I’m going to keep writing this blog I just don’t have the time to do it everyday anymore.

Day 363: Thank you Lord for my blog readers and all the encouragement I’ve received from them this year! May each of them be as blessed by this experience as I have.

Day 362: Shampoo

Because I’ve been so sick this week, I haven’t felt up for washing my hair in, oh… well let’s just say several days. Normally I can get away with washing my hair every other day and sometimes three days, and since I’ve been home sick and no one’s come over it hasn’t been a big deal that my hair’s ABSOLUTELY FILTHY! Well tomorrow’s Sunday and I’m hoping to go to church tomorrow, so I need to wash it tonight, and I am SO looking forward to washing my hair with shampoo and conditioner so it’ll be all nice and clean tomorrow. I’ll admit I don’t always like washing my hair, but it’s one of those things that needs to be done to be healthy, and I like the way it looks and feels when it’s clean! (especially compared to the alternative!)

Day 362: Thank you Lord for shampoo so I can have clean and healthy hair!

Day 361: Good Health

If you’ve been reading my blog this week you probably know I’ve had a really bad cold all week. I’ve been pretty miserable all week, but I haven’t been sick very much at all this year, and when I have it hasn’t been that bad. That’s why I’m grateful for the good health I’ve had this year. While I’ve never had anything serious in my life, there’ve been years when I’ve been sick a lot and had to miss out on stuff I really wanted to do. Those times make me even more thankful that I do have good health so I don’t have to miss out on stuff, or worry about what the future holds for me health wise.

Day 361: Thank you Lord that I have good health, I’m so grateful that I don’t have to worry about it like so many other people do.

Day 360: Sick Days

When I got up this morning I was still feeling really sick, and decided to take a sick day from work. While there’ve been days when I haven’t felt well this I don’t like taking sick days from work unless I have too, and I felt that I would do better if I just stayed home. I don’t need them very often but I’m glad I can use sick days when I need them, so I don’t have to go to work when I don’t feel well and maybe get other people sick too. I want to be able to do my job and not be distracted by how bad I feel.

Day 360: Thank you Lord for sick days from work so I don’t have to go into work when I’m not feeling well, and don’t have to worry about getting other people sick.

Day 359: Christmas

As I’ve said several times this month I LOVE Christmas! I can’t believe it’s Christmas day already! I hope you had a good one, mine was except I have a terrible cold. It’s terrible to be sick on Christmas and this isn’t the first time it’s happened to me, but I think I appreciated Christmas more this year, because I had to focus on what was going on more and not be distracted by how I was feeling.

It’s wonderful to get things for Christmas (and I did get some cool things this year) but it’s not what Christmas is all about. It’s about the ultimate gift: God’s Son Jesus, coming to earth as a baby to ultimately die on the cross to save us from our sins. While there are many nice things and traditions surrounding Christmas that’s what it is all about in the end, and that’s why we celebrate!

Day 359: Thank you Lord for Christmas! Thank you for coming to earth as a baby, helpless to grow into a man who would die on the cross for me!
