#399: Books that’ve impacted my life

A friend on Facebook nominated me to list 10 books that’ve had an impact on my life. Now most people know I read a lot so I knew I had no excuse not to do it, but it was harder than I expected to come up with 10. The first 5 were easy no brainers for me but the rest were a bit harder. But it got me thinking about the books I’ve read over the years and made me appreciate them so much. Below I’ve listed the books (in no particular order) and a brief explanation of how they’ve impacted my life.

The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis completely changed my perspective on spiritual warfare, which I’d never completely understood before I read this book.

The Prodigal God by Timothy Keller gave me a completely new perspective on the parable of The Prodigal Son and the nature of God.

Disability and the Gospel by Micheal S Bates changed my perspective on people with disabilities (even my own) and my interactions with them.

The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis (Where do I even begin?) fell in love with reading and fantasy books because of this series, deepened my faith, served as partial inspiration for the novel I’m currently writing.

Unlocked by Karen Kingsbury similar to Disability and the Gospel, inspirational story and gave me a new perspective on autism.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers changed my perspective on how much God loves his children, even when they sin.

The Family of Jesus by Karen Kingsbury changed my perspective on various members of Jesus’ family, especially John the Baptist and Jesus’ brother James.

Jesus Calling by Sarah Young an awesome devotional that’s brought me closer to Jesus.

Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis shown me how one person can have a huge impact on the world, and encouraged me to do the same.

Safely Home by Randy Alcorn opened my eyes to the persecuted church around the world, and made me want to pray for them all the more.

#399: Thank you Lord for these books and others that’ve had an impact on my life. Thanks for leading me to them, and the way they’ve changed my life.

What are you thankful for today? Leave a Comment and let me know, I’d love to read it!
