#410: Giving Thanks

Once again it’s Thanksgiving week in the US. Hard to believe but it is. Whether or not we like to admit it, we have a lot to be grateful for, even when it doesn’t seem like it. One thing I’ve learned from writing this blog is when we look for the things we’re grateful for we appreciate them so much more. So I’d like to encourage you once again to pay attention for things you are thankful for and thank God for them, not just on Thursday but all the time.

#409: Thank you Lord that we can give thanks for the things in our lives and appreciate them even more when we do.

#409: Polite People

I’ve had to call my doctor several times over the past few months and every time I believe I’ve talked to the same nurse who is rude, doesn’t seem to know anything, and doesn’t handle my questions well. I’ve only been going to this doctor for a short time and it’s gotten so bad that I’ve been seriously considering changing doctors so I don’t have to deal with this woman anymore. Anyway I had to call the doctor again last week and this time I talked to another person who was the complete opposite. It was such a nice change! I just wish people could be more polite, especially when they’re dealing with the public. I’ve had similar experiences at one of the branches of my bank, they’ve been so bad that I refuse to go there anymore. If you want someone’s business you need to treat them with respect! That’s why I’m so glad when someone treats me politely and respectfully, it makes my life better and I have more respect for them.

#409: Thank you Lord for polite people. They make things so much easier and I respect them so much more.

#408: Authors on Facebook

I’m a fan of most of the authors whose books I read on Facebook. I really enjoy seeing what’s going on in their lives, learning more about their books and finding out about events they’re hosting. I have a side job writing book reviews on another website and I like to post the links to my reviews on that author’s page, so they and other fans can read them. Both of these facts came together in a cool way last week. An author posted a pic of some advanced copies of their next book which comes out in March, and I half jokingly commented “I write book reviews can I get one of those?” I was surprised and excited when she messaged me back and said yes. I got the book in the mail today and I can’t wait to read and review it!

#408: Thank you Lord that authors I read are on Facebook. Not only because I got the book today but I like being able to get a peak into their lives.

#407: Making it Safely to Vote

If you live in the US I hope you’re voting today! We are so fortunate to be able to choose our leaders unlike other places in the world. Since I already wrote a post about voting that’s all I’m going to say about that here; I must say I am a little more grateful that I was able to vote today. On the way to vote I came VERY close to getting in two accidents. But thankfully I made it safely and was able to cast my ballot. Now I just have to wait and see if the people I voted for are elected.

#407: Thank you Lord that I made it safely to vote today. It’s something we often take for granted, but I have a greater appreciation for it today!
