#422: My New Coat

I’ve had the same winter coat for the past several years. It’s wool with a fur lined hood, and while it’s good for cold weather, last year when we got a lot of snow and the temperature dipped down really low it wasn’t always enough. So I’ve been on the lookout for a new one, and last Saturday I found a really nice true winter coat that I could feel comfortable wearing in snow and really cold weather for over half off. I must say I got it just in time! While last weekend was fairly warm for February the week that followed, weekend and this week have been FREEZING on top of snow. But my new coat is perfect for this weather and I haven’t been nearly as cold as I thought I might get. I’m so grateful to have it!

#422: Thank you Lord for my new coat. Thank you that I found it just in time for this cold weather and that it keeps me nice and warm.

Day 299: Layers

I spent most of last night outside in pretty cold weather. But since I started out before sunset it wasn’t too bad when I first got there. I’d worn and brought a few layers of clothes and as the night went on I put on more layers, and I was able to stay pretty warm till the end of the night.

When you’re going to be outside for a while in cold weather layers are so nice! (Especially if it’s at night) They keep you warm, and as the night gets colder you can add another layer and get even warmer, or if it’s during the day, if you get warm you can take off a layer.

Day 299: Thank you Lord for layers so I stay warm as when I’m outside as the weather gets colder, and not start out too warm.

Day 218: Raincoats

It’s been pretty rainy all day today so I was glad to be inside for most of the day. Unfortunately I was in such a hurry this morning that I forgot my raincoat or anything else with a hood, since it wasn’t actually raining when I left the house. I don’t mind getting a little wet if it’s just raining a bit but I hate getting soaked when it’s raining hard and I forgot my raincoat. Fortunately every time I went outside today it wasn’t raining very hard, but if it was I’d be really upset that I didn’t have my raincoat. I didn’t have an umbrella either, but I don’t like to use them unless I have to, they always get in my way and you have to find a place to put them while you can keep wearing your raincoat if you have to.

Day 218: Thank you Lord for Raincoats to keep me dry when it rains!

Day 135: Unplanned People Dressing A Like

For work today I wore blue jeans and a green top, a typical work outfit for me, but you can imagine my surprise when I got to work and found seven other people also wearing jeans and a green shirt! (Five of whom were in my own department of 15 people!) Crazy huh? And it wasn’t even planned or Saint Patrick’s day.

I love it when people dress a like and it wasn’t even planned. It’s funny, and makes me feel part of a group for that day at least. I often feel left out of groups and when something like this happens I feel included, even if it is an accident. I don’t really believe in coincidences, so when something like this happens I can’t help but wonder if that’s why God orchestrated it.

Day 135: Thank you Lord for days when people dress a like and it wasn’t even planned. It brightens my day and makes me feel like I’m not alone.

Day 99: Skirts

I don’t know what the weather today was like where you are, but here it was in the 80’s. Unusual for April here, though Spring weather can be pretty unpredictable. At my work we can wear capris between Memorial Day and Labor Day, but with weather like it’s supposed to be all week I don’t think anyone is looking forward to wearing pants. To help deal with the heat I wore a skirt today which really helped, and since we had visitors in the building and had to dress up it was even easier.

I love wearing skirts! I’ve always been a girly girl, for as long as I can remember pink and purple have been my favorite colors, and they’re two of my best colors. Growing up I loved wearing dresses but that gradually changed to skirts, they’re so practical and nice looking to wear. I think I own two dresses now, both of which I got for weddings and I only wear them on special occasions. I have a lot of skirts though, which I’ll wear most of the spring and all summer.

Day 99: Thank you Lord for skirts, they’re such an easy and comfortable way to dress up, and nice way to keep cool when the weather gets hot.
