Day 348: Days when it’s been hard to find something to be grateful for

As the year draws to a close it’s not always easy to find something to be grateful for, especially since I said from the beginning I wouldn’t have any repeats. Today is one of those days. This morning I was all excited because I had all of these plans, but almost nothing turned out the way I had thought/planned. While nothing bad happened today was a bit disappointing, and when I turned on my computer tonight to write my blog I sat here for a while trying to think of something, but the only things I did think about were either things I had already written about or I felt too depressed to write about it at the moment and couldn’t do it justice.

That got me thinking back on this year and my blog. I’ve had some really exciting days and it’s been really easy to find something to be thankful for, but there’ve been others like today when it’s been really hard. I’ve always managed to find something even if it’s completely unrelated to what happened that day. Do I wish that every day it was easy to find something? Of course! But I think the hard days have helped me to grow this year, I really have become a more grateful person because of writing this blog and it’s not because of the easy days, it’s because of the hard days when I’ve really had to think about what I’m thankful for.

Day 348: Thank you Lord for the days this year when it’s been hard to find something to be grateful for, I’ve really grown because of them, and become much more grateful as a result.

Day 306: Daylight Savings Time

Every year I look forward to what happens tonight, Daylight Savings Time! It’s so nice to be able to set our clocks back an hour and gain another hour of sleep! I really don’t enjoy it too much in the Spring when we lose an hour, because it always throws me off, and I’m really tired. But I’ll take an extra hour! I remember growing up since I was homeschooled if we overslept in the mornings it was ok for the beginning of the school year until we hit Daylight Savings, then we didn’t have an excuse because our bodies should be on that schedule.

Day 306: Thank you Lord for Daylight Savings Time! It’s so nice to be able to get another hour of sleep!

Day 296: Slow Days

At work yesterday there was a computer problem which drastically effected the amount of work processed, and carried over to today. As a result yesterday and today were pretty slow work-wise for me, and tomorrow will probably be extremely busy. Normally I don’t like slow days at work, they can be very boring and mean that I have to do tasks I really don’t enjoy. But considering how tomorrow will probably be, I’m glad today was slow so I had a breather and time to mentally prepare. It’s nice to have a mix of slow, normal and fast days at work to have some variety, and so things don’t become monotonous.

Day 296: Thank you Lord for slow days at work, especially before and after really busy days so I can relax and not go crazy trying to get things done.

Day 225: Each Day

Every night when I go to bed I pray, and one thing I pray every night is “Thank you for today.” Since I pray it every night could easily be part of my routine and something I don’t truly mean, and I will admit some days it is, but in general it isn’t. God has allowed me to live another day, whether or not it was a good one, and live for his glory. During the day good things may have happened and/or bad things, but I’m grateful for them, because I’ve been able to experience them and who knows they may have a long-lasting impact on my life.

Day 225: Thank you Lord for each day I get to experience and all that happens during it, may I never take it for granted.

Day 174: Busy Weekends

This weekend was one of the busiest I’ve had in a quite a while. I had a great time and I’m glad I did everything, but now I’m pretty tired. I don’t enjoy weekends when I don’t go anywhere besides church as much, but I wouldn’t want every single weekend to be busy or quiet, it’s good to have a balance of both. It’s nice to be going and doing, but you need some down time too in between, which I didn’t get too much of this weekend. I like spending time with people doing fun things which is what I did this weekend.

Day 174: Thank you Lord for busy weekends, when I can have fun get out of the house and feel like I accomplished something.

Day 74: Friday

This has been one of those weeks where I can truly say: TGIF! It’s been a rough week and I’m SO glad it’s Friday! I’ve been looking forward to it all week. I’m looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend where I can rest and sleep in tomorrow. It was also payday today, and it’s nice to have some more money in my pocket.

Day 74: Thank you Lord for Friday and the end of the week. Thank you for giving people something to look forward to each week.
