#415: Giving to Others

I hope all my readers had a Merry Christmas! As I was reflecting on Christmas this year, I realized that I felt a bit differently about this year than other years. For the first time I was more excited about each of the gifts I was giving to people than the ones I received. While I was excited about the gifts I would be getting, on Christmas I was more excited to see people’s reactions when they opened the gifts I gave them. I guess this year the phrase “it’s more blessed to give than receive” was true for me. It’s wonderful to be a reminder to others that God gave them his most precious gift his Son on Christmas.

#415: Thank you Lord that we can give to others, to make their lives better or just their Christmas.

#368: Returns

This past Christmas I got a couple of gifts that unfortunately I had to return because they didn’t fit, or I needed something a little bit different. I don’t like it when I have to return a gift, and I don’t do it very often, but when something doesn’t work, doesn’t fit, or is different from what I need, then returns are necessary. I’m glad I can return it if I need to and get something else instead, especially this year because one of the things I had to return I didn’t realize it was wrong until I opened it!

#368: Thank you Lord for returns, so if something doesn’t work out then we can return it and not have it sit around our house, and we can get something else.

Day 309: Random Acts of Kindness

I went shopping this evening and after I had paid I realized I had left one small item in my cart. Since it something I really needed I showed it to the cashier who said she would ring it up after the people behind me in line. While I was waiting the people behind me said they would pay for it for me! I was stunned and so grateful especially since I was in a bit of a hurry.

I’ve heard of people performing random acts of kindness for strangers, but I’ve never witnessed one let alone received one. It was such a little thing (the item only cost about $3) but it’s something I don’t think I’ll ever forget! From now on I’m going to be more on the lookout for ways to help people I don’t know.

Day 309: Thank you Lord for random acts of kindness, especially the one I experienced today! It’s so wonderful when someone you don’t know helps you out, or you can help someone else out.

Day 219: Gift Registries

Today I went shopping for a gift for a shower and got something from the gift registry. I really like gift registries for baby and bridal showers, they make shopping so much easier. You can find something you know the person needs or wants and you don’t have to worry about someone else getting them the same thing. (Unless of course they want more than one of something) There are always those people who you have no idea what to get them, wouldn’t it be nice if people could make registries from their birthdays or Christmas so you could find exactly what they wanted? (I’m not saying people should, it’s just an idea)

Day 219: Thank you Lord for Gift Registries, they make buying a gift so much easier for the big events in someone’s life.
