#429: Vaccinations

I’ve recently had to get a couple of different vaccinations for my upcoming trip, and let me tell you I’ve never liked getting shots! But I know how important they are and I don’t want to get sick. A tetanus booster is one of the ones I had to get, and that’s the one I hate getting the most. But, I’ve heard enough about lockjaw to know I NEVER want to have it! Therefore, I’ll handle the pain and discomfort for now so I don’t have to worry about it later.

#429: Thank you Lord for vaccinations so we don’t have to worry about getting sick.

#404: The Copy of Insurance Card

If you’ve read my post from last week you know that last Saturday my bag was stolen with a number of personal items inside. I’m still in the process of replacing the stuff, and today I visited the doctor and needed two of the items from the bag: my ID, and health insurance card. Fortunately I knew I could use my passport instead of my ID, but the card was more important. Then I remembered I had made a copy of my card in preparation for my trip this summer which I still had! I’m so glad I kept that paper and they accepted it!

#404: Thank you Lord that I held onto the copy of my Insurance card when I didn’t really have a reason to. You knew what was coming down the road and that I would need it.

Day 362: Shampoo

Because I’ve been so sick this week, I haven’t felt up for washing my hair in, oh… well let’s just say several days. Normally I can get away with washing my hair every other day and sometimes three days, and since I’ve been home sick and no one’s come over it hasn’t been a big deal that my hair’s ABSOLUTELY FILTHY! Well tomorrow’s Sunday and I’m hoping to go to church tomorrow, so I need to wash it tonight, and I am SO looking forward to washing my hair with shampoo and conditioner so it’ll be all nice and clean tomorrow. I’ll admit I don’t always like washing my hair, but it’s one of those things that needs to be done to be healthy, and I like the way it looks and feels when it’s clean! (especially compared to the alternative!)

Day 362: Thank you Lord for shampoo so I can have clean and healthy hair!

Day 361: Good Health

If you’ve been reading my blog this week you probably know I’ve had a really bad cold all week. I’ve been pretty miserable all week, but I haven’t been sick very much at all this year, and when I have it hasn’t been that bad. That’s why I’m grateful for the good health I’ve had this year. While I’ve never had anything serious in my life, there’ve been years when I’ve been sick a lot and had to miss out on stuff I really wanted to do. Those times make me even more thankful that I do have good health so I don’t have to miss out on stuff, or worry about what the future holds for me health wise.

Day 361: Thank you Lord that I have good health, I’m so grateful that I don’t have to worry about it like so many other people do.

Day 360: Sick Days

When I got up this morning I was still feeling really sick, and decided to take a sick day from work. While there’ve been days when I haven’t felt well this I don’t like taking sick days from work unless I have too, and I felt that I would do better if I just stayed home. I don’t need them very often but I’m glad I can use sick days when I need them, so I don’t have to go to work when I don’t feel well and maybe get other people sick too. I want to be able to do my job and not be distracted by how bad I feel.

Day 360: Thank you Lord for sick days from work so I don’t have to go into work when I’m not feeling well, and don’t have to worry about getting other people sick.

Day 357: The Chiropractor

I’ve had a bad back since my sophomore year of high school. I guess it runs in the family because both my dad and uncle also have bad backs and have to go to the chiropractor on a regular basis. I’ve been fortunate in while I have back pain occasionally it’s rarely very bad.

That is until last year, a few days before Christmas last year I completely threw my back out. I was in so much pain and because Christmas was on a Tuesday and it didn’t really start hurting til Sunday the chiropractor was closed and I had to suffer through. Needless to say I was pretty miserable all Christmas day last year, but I made it through somehow and went to the chiropractor the day after Christmas. He fixed my back, and aside from a small incident a couple days later I’ve been pretty much pain-free since. Well, until this weekend, I don’t know how I did it, but my back is out again, while it’s nothing like last year it’s enough that I need to go back to the chiropractor tomorrow. (Yes, he’s open on Christmas Eve this year!) Hopefully he’ll be able to realign my back again so I can enjoy Christmas this year!

Day 357: Thank you Lord for the chiropractor and how he fixed my back last year. Help him fix it tomorrow so I can really enjoy Christmas!

Day 351: Toilet Plunger

Upon using the bathroom tonight I saw that the toilet was clogged so I got the plunger out and plunged it which solved the problem. Toilet Plungers may seem like such a small thing, but can you imagine what plumbing would be like without them? I’ll never forget the Monday morning a few months ago when I went into the restroom at work and could smell that one of the toilets had been clogged the entire weekend! (I’m sure you can imagine what that smelled like!) Fortunately they were able to get the it unclogged pretty quickly. But when our home toilets are clogged we have to rely on the plunger which most of the time takes care of the problem!

Day 351: Thank you Lord for toilet plungers so we can easily fix our clogged toilets and not have to deal with the after effects.
