Day 334: November

Happy end of November! Can you believe it’s the end of November and the year is almost over? I’m having a hard time believing it. Only 31 more daily posts for me, but don’t worry I’m not going to stop after December 31, it just won’t be every day.

I think of November as an in between month. The leaves are falling from the trees and the weather is getting colder, and while we sometimes get snow, it’s rarely very much. We’re getting ready for winter, but it’s not here yet, and it’s pretty drab and can be depressing. That’s why I’m glad we celebrate Thanksgiving during November, it can be hard to remember the things we should be thankful for when we look outside, but with Thanksgiving we’re forced to remember and think about them. Then as soon as it’s over we start gearing up for Christmas, and celebrating the birth of Christ!

Day 334: Thank you Lord for the month of November, where we are forced to really think about the things we’re thankful for.

Day 304: October

Can you believe it’s the last day of October already? I can’t, the year’s almost over already. For me October is the one true month of fall we get each year, at least where I live. The leaves are turning colors and the days are cooler, but not cold yet like they can be in November. My favorite holiday, besides Christmas, takes place during October that’s right, my Birthday! I love the fact that I was born during such a beautiful month, where the weather can be either cool or warm. It makes things interesting.

Day 304: Thank you Lord for the month of October! Thank you for allowing me to be born in such a beautiful and unpredictable month!

Day 273: September

I can’t believe it’s the last day of September already! The year is going by so quickly! September is an interesting month to me, it changes seasons from Summer to Fall, and school begins at the beginning of the month. Some years September feels more like Summer and others it feels like Fall, often depending on the weather. It’s a month of change as the weather starts getting cooler, and the leaves begin changing color and falling off the trees. When I was little I couldn’t wait for September to be over because that meant it was almost time for my birthday!

Day 273: Thank you Lord for the beautiful month of September, where we see the seasons change along with the trees and the temperatures.

Day 243: August

I can’t believe it’s the last day of August already! Not that it’s gone by fast for me, actually it’s been kinda slow, but a lot of stuff happened this month and it’s kinda hard to believe it all happened within a month! What’s happened this August? Let’s see… overall the weather’s been all over the place temperature wise but generally cooler than normal, I went on a couple of fun trips, oh yeah and at the beginning of the month our dishwasher caught fire! It’s certainly been an interesting month.

I like August, it’s such an interesting month, it’s still Summer but things are winding down. A lot of people take one last vacation before school starts, and then school starts at the end of the month. It’s a transition month for most people even though Fall doesn’t officially begin till mid-September, to me it feels like fall begins at the end of the month, and sometimes weather wise it does!

Day 243: Thank you Lord for the month of August, so we can enjoy our last bit of official Summer before Fall and school begin!

Day 213: July

I can’t believe yesterday was the last day of July! It’s funny though, the first half of the year went by really fast for me, but July seemed to go much slower, not that it dragged it just didn’t seem to pass as quickly as the early part of the year. For me July means summer. It’s often the hottest month of the year where I live and while it’s not the only month of summer June is half Spring, August is getting towards the end, and while September is partially Summer I never think of it that way. Growing up it was usually the month where we went on vacation, spent time in the pool, attended VBS, went to camp, all the things that mean summer to me. In the US it’s also the month where we celebrate our nation’s independence. On the whole July might be my favorite month.

Day 213: Thank you Lord for the month of July where we can really enjoy summer, and celebrate our independence.

Day 181: June

I can’t believe its the last day of June already and the year is half over! This month has gone by so fast and especially the last two weeks. At the beginning of the month it was Spring and now it’s summer. I think months where the season changes in the middle are interesting in general but especially June. Depending on the year the temperature can still be cool at the beginning of the month, but by the end it’s blazing hot! Because of the weather some years I think of June being a summer month and other years I think of it as still spring.

Day 181: Thank you Lord for the month of June and it’s interesting weather, where we say good-bye to Spring and transition into summer.

Day 151: May

If you’ve been reading my blog all month you should know this hasn’t been an easy month for me. Has it really been less than a month since that day? I’ve made it through, and I’m looking forward to what will happen next.

May is such a beautiful month. Flowers are blooming, my allergies are going crazy, the weather’s getting warmer, but it’s usually not too hot like summer. I think it’s so appropriate that we celebrate Mothers in May because they are just as beautiful and wonderful as the month itself.

Day 151: Thank you Lord for the beautiful month of May. Thank you for helping me through this May, just like you always do.
