Day 354: Winter

Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of Winter? With the weather we’re supposed to have here this weekend it certainly won’t feel like it. But tomorrow is officially the first day of Winter and the shortest day of the year. As much as I dislike cold I do like snow. (As long as we don’t get too much!) Everything in nature dies or goes to sleep during Winter, but it has to happen for us to have Spring where everything comes to life and grows again! Spring probably wouldn’t be nearly as beautiful or maybe even happen if we didn’t have Winter!

Day 354: Thank you Lord for Winter, so we can have snow, and the earth can prepare to come a live in Spring!

Day 217: Cooler Weather in the Summer

I don’t know how the weather’s been where you live this Summer but where I live it’s been a real seesaw. There’ve been days where the temperature was over 100 degrees, and days in the 70’s and 80’s, there was even a day where it was so cool I had to wear long pants. It’s certainly been an interesting Summer temperature wise. Summer should be hot in my opinion, but we’ve had so many REALLY hot days this Summer, it’s been nice to have some cooler days to balance it out. I wouldn’t want a Summer with only cooler days but a few here and there is really nice.

Day 217: Thank you Lord for cooler days during the Summer, so we can have a break from the heat, and not be broiling all the time!

Day 194: Christmas in July

Hallmark Channel has been showing Christmas movies all this week and weekend, which made me want to celebrate Christmas in July this week, so I’ve been listening to Christmas music at work, and watching the movies on Hallmark. I love Christmastime, there are so many wonderful things about it, most importantly celebrating the birth of Christ. But I have one strict rule: Only have Christmas stuff between Black Friday and Epiphany; then it all goes away until next year.

However, some years I do feel like celebrating Christmas in July, for a few days. It gets so hot in July that it’s nice to think about cooler times. As Christians we shouldn’t confine thinking about the birth of Christ to one time of year, it’s something that we should remember all year round, we divide our history by the event after all!

Day 194: Thank you Lord for Christmas in July, it’s so wonderful in the midst of the summer heat to think about cooler times, and to remember that you came to earth as a baby!

Day 172: Summer

Happy first day of Summer! Growing up I’d tell people Summer was my favorite season, because I was out of school, I could go swimming, It was hot, we’d go on vacation, etc. Now I don’t think I have a favorite season, there’s something I like about each one of them. I still enjoy summer. It gets so cold during the winter it’s nice to have a season that’s the opposite. We need balance and summer definitely helps provide that each year.

Day 172: Thank you Lord for summer, when the weather gets hot, and we can enjoy time in the sun!

Day 79: Spring

Happy First Day of Spring! I look forward to spring every year, after the cold months of winter and snow it’s nice to feel it getting warm again. I love watching the flowers and trees come to life again and bloom. It’s so beautiful! It wrecks havoc on my allergies, but the sight is worth it for me! It’s wonderful to see new life coming about every year.

Day 79: Thank you Lord for Spring, it’s such a beautiful season, and such a wonderful reminder of new life.
