#439: Nice Weather Today

This afternoon we lost power for about an hour and a half for no apparent reason. The weather is so nice today, not too hot or cold, and it’s bright and sunshiny. If we had to lose power I couldn’t ask for better weather, in the summer at least. We opened the windows and the shades to let the air and sunshine in. It was perfect until the power came back on.

#439: Thank you Lord for the nice weather today, so we didn’t suffer when the power went out and had enough light to be able to do what we needed today.

#389: Fans

Now that it’s Summer the weather is getting really hot. (especially the past few days!) My room is in the attic on the south side of the house, so as you might imagine it can get pretty hot on even warm days even with the AC running. Fortunately I have a pretty high heat tolerance and can usually handle whatever temperature my room is. But still there are days especially if I’ve been out all day where I just can’t handle the heat, so I have to turn my the big box fan to cool things down. I seriously don’t know what I would do without a fan on the really hot days of summer. It’s so wonderful to be able to cool down a room quickly and keep it cool.

#389: Thank you Lord for fans so I can stay cool on even the hottest days of Summer.

#372: Snowplows

The East Coast of the US has gotten so much snow this Winter that I completely sick of it! It’s not Winter for me without at least some snow, but enough is enough, and I can’t wait till Spring! But we’ve had to deal with it and still go out in it to work, which is why I’m grateful for the snow plows, especially this week with the big snow we had, so we can get out and be safe on the roads. My next door neighbor drives a snowplow and he just got home this afternoon after having been out since Wednesday night! I know he must be exhausted, but I’m grateful for him and everyone else who’s been out there working hard.

#372: Thank you Lord for the snowplows, so the roads are clear and we don’t have to worry about them as much when we have to go out and drive in the snow.

Day 344: All-Weather Tires

The roads were pretty messy this morning with snow falling and the snow still on the roads, but I still had to get to work this morning. Fortunately all of our cars have All-Weather tires, so while the roads were a little slick I had no problems getting to work this morning! Since I live very close to work I feel that I don’t really have any excuses to miss work unless the roads are REALLY bad, and I always try at least to get into work. When the weather is bad and I still have to go out it’s good to know that while no tire can completely prevent slipping or an accident I can feel more comfortable on the roads.

Day 344: Thank you Lord for all-weather tires, so I don’t have to worry as much when I’m out in bad weather.

Day 342: Staying inside in bad weather

The weather today was pretty nasty, lot’s of rain, ice, sleet, and a bit of snow. After seeing the forecast last night we decided to stay home all day and not go out at all. It was nice and warm inside while the weather outside is freezing and conditions could be dangerous. I’m glad we don’t always have to go out when the weather’s bad, and we have someplace warm to go and stay dry. I don’t think anyone really likes going out in bad weather except maybe the snowplow because they have to, and I’m grateful that they keep the roads clear so we can drive safely, but I prefer to stay in if I can and the weather’s really bad.

Day 342: Thank you Lord that we can stay inside when the weather gets bad, so we can stay dry and safe.

Day 321: Days without Fog

It was REALLY foggy here this morning. It seems like we’ve had quite a few foggy days here recently, but this was probably the worst in a while, you couldn’t see that far at all. I don’t like fog at all! While it doesn’t have any environmental benefits or consequences that I know of, it can be dangerous to drive in if it’s heavy. I remember hearing true stories from long ago when people would get lost in the fog, and some of them were downright scary, I definitely wouldn’t want to be in their place. That’s why I’m glad for days when there’s no fog or if it there is it lifts early, it makes me feel so much safer out on the roads.

Day 321: Thank you Lord for days without fog so everyone on the roads can see where they’re going and makes me feel much safer.

Day 310: Sunsets

How was the sunset where you live tonight? Here it was absolutely gorgeous! The sky was a beautiful light blue, and there were some interestingly shaped clouds that the sun painted red and purple. I’ve seen several pictures on Facebook of the sunset tonight.

I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t enjoy a good sunset. When God paints the sky so many different colors it’s wonderful to see. Sunrises can be nice too, but you have to get up early to see them. Sunsets seem to last a long time, while sunrises are often over quickly.

Day 310: Thank you Lord for sunsets, they’re so beautiful and a wonderful way to see your handiwork.
