#440: Being able to share about my trip

We had a sharing time about our recent trip today. About 20 people came and it was great to be able to share about our trip and everything that happened while we were away. I hope everyone had a good time, and I was glad to have the opportunity to talk about my experiences. It was an amazing experience and I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to talk about it. You can talk to people about it, but things happen, you get interrupted or don’t have enough time, so you can’t share everything you wanted to or you forget something, so it was great to have a setting like this to be able to talk in.

#440: Thank you Lord for the opportunity to share about my trip today, and being able to talk about everything I wanted to.

#435: E-mailing to another country

Now that I’m back from my big trip I really miss the people I met there, fortunately there’s an easy way to keep in touch: e-mail! Since my return I’ve been e-mailing back and forth with several people I met there. It’s great to be able to keep in touch and hear what’s going on in their lives and share about mine. I hope we can keep it up and build better relationships. I still miss being there and being with them, but it’s better than nothing.

#435: Thank you Lord that I can easily e-mail the people I met on my trip. Help me to keep this communication going and develop my relationships with them.

Day 269: When Other People Say “Thank You”

I was thinking today about the phrase “thank you” and how I feel when someone says it to me. Many times I don’t think twice about it like when I say “bless you” after someone sneezes, and they say “thank you”, it just comes out automatically. Most of the time when someone says “thank you” I respond with “you’re welcome”, “no, thank you” or even “mmhm,” a lot of times that too is an automatic response that I don’t really think about.

Of course there are a lot of occasions when how you respond when someone says “thank you” isn’t a big deal, but what about the times when it is a big deal? When you’ve done something big, special, or important for someone else and they respond by saying “thank you.” When that happens I try to be really nice and genuine with my response especially when their “thank you” has touched me. It feels good to be genuinely appreciated and makes me want to do more; albeit sometimes for selfish reasons but when someone is glad you helped them it should spur you to do more and better things to help people.

Day 269: Thank you Lord for the times when other people say “thank you” it’s so wonderful to feel appreciated.

Day 104: The Five Senses

I was thinking today about things that we tend to take for granted or don’t think about, that we should be thankful for. Quite a few things came to mind, but one of them was our five senses.

Think about it, what would life be like without our senses? Not being able to see, hear, taste, smell or feel anything. It certainly would be different, we wouldn’t be able to experience the world in the same way if we didn’t have one or two of them, let alone all of them. I’m not saying people who are deaf or blind can’t experience the world, but they do it in a way that’s different from people who have all their senses.

Day 104: Thank you Lord for giving us our five senses so we can experience the world in all of its aspects.
